La Maison Orphée is officially B Corp certified!
We are now part of the B Corp community, which includes nearly 6,000 companies worldwide. As a B Corp, we are part of a movement that is leading the way to a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative global economy.
Why did you choose B Corp certification?
Creating healthy and tasty virgin oils and natural condiments that allow everyone to celebrate every meal, be their best selves and savor life is what makes us tick!
For nearly 40 years, we have succeeded in accomplishing our mission because we work with people who put their heart and know-how into their work, whether it be our employees or our suppliers, our distributor and retailer partners. So it was already in our genes to join the B Corp movement. But it doesn't happen overnight.
How does it work?
The process is done through a social and environmental performance evaluation called the B Impact Assessment. This assessment allows us to review our practices and our business model through a questionnaire... which raises questions! Our team has spent hundreds of hours evaluating our practices in order to measure them, ensure that they meet the standards, and set improvement objectives. The answers to the evaluation questionnaire must give a minimum total of 80 points to request that our dossier be reviewed by B Lab, the organization that oversees B Corp certification. Then the verification process begins, where we must provide more complete evidence in a dialogue with the analysts. We achieved certification with a score of 83.4 points. This is only the starting point of this adventure, a measurement point to continue to do better in the different spheres that are: governance, workers, environment, community and customers.
