Coarse Grey Sea Salt
Enhances the flavour of fish and slow-cooked dishes
Our Coirse Grey Sea Salt owes its colour to the clay-bottom pans of salt marshes from which it is hand-harvested after the evaporation of seawater by the combined action of the wind and the sun.
Our sea salt is a source of minerals (sodium, magnesium, potassium, calcium) and trace elements (iron, manganese, zinc).
Did you know? Nearly 3000 tonnes of sea salt are collected each year on the island of Noirmoutier.
Why Choose Maison Orphée ?
Our salt, harvested by hand in Noirmoutier Island's tidal marshes, does not undergo other techniques other than sun drying and grinding when you want to get a finer grain. This artisanal process leaves its natural grey colour to salt.
